Capitalism: A Love Story

I was a little bit skeptical of going to watch the movie “Capitalism: A Love Story” because I did not know what it was really about and if it would be good. I was told I had to watch it for a class, so this past weekend I decided to go see the movie. I did not know this movie had business implication, as I watched the movie it just seem to interest me more and more.

This movie directed by the controversial Micheal Moore, touched on some sensitive subject of why America’s economy is where it is today. As I watched the movie it began to capture my interest more and more. It talked about how different topics, such as

Americans losing their home
Government shady ways
How certain occupation don’t make any money

While watching this movie, I did not think Micheal Moore would make anything worth me watching but I guess he proved me wrong this time. One subject he touched on that made me realize that people in this country have crooked ways was when he said some pilots make 17,000 a year. This was a stunning fact to me because I did not think people with such sophisticated degrees made nothing. Also he talked about how they had to get second jobs just to make ends meet.

All in all I felt like it was a great movie because it opened my eyes to a lot of things I was ignorant about. It also stated some facts of how bribery still exist in our today’s government…I would recommend anyone to go see it!

A Citadel Athlete

Granted I love playing football because it has become a passion, sort of like when you where a kid in the candy store. But being an athlete at The Citadel can be a challenge sometimes. There are a lot of things required of you as an athlete at The Citadel, you have to be on top of everything in academics, military and the sport in which you participate in. My focal point of the blog is being a football player in particular. The everyday requirements both physically and mentally can take a toll on your body if you let it, such as:
• lifting weights every week
• meetings
• practice

There are also requirements you have to meet in the class which i’m sure all students have to meet no matter whether you play sports or not, athletes requirements:
• take 24 hours in a fiscal year (August to August)
• keep a good GPA

Some might be reading this and be saying why is he complaining. But I am far from from complaining, I am actually shedding light on the fact that when I wake up every morning I have a chance to be more than the average man. Plus who wouldn’t want to go to school for free….exactly!
